God is still saving me.

That’s right.

There was a specific time in my life when I knew who my Higher Power was – Jesus Christ – and I gave my life to Him. That was salvation #1. It was real, and final, and is what gives me confidence in my eternal destination today.

But there are other ways that God saves me – and saves you.

Many of you gave your lives to Christ before you recognized you had so many hurts, habits, and hang-ups that eventually brought you into what we call ‘recovery.’ Others of you link coming to Christ almost immediately with your process of recovery. So think about it a minute, what has God saved you from recently?

“Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes” Psalm 17:7 (NIV).

I don’t know about you, but I can easily think of several ‘foes’ that I need rescue from. Maybe an actual person – family, a co-worker, a boss; maybe it’s a substance that wants to destroy you – alcohol, junk food, drugs; maybe it’s a hang-up that keeps damaging you and your relationships – anger, apathy, depression, laziness.

Daily we need to be looking to God for His strength, and for that ‘way out’ that He promises is there for every temptation we face.

Jesus is the Savior – past, present, and for every future need.

May you take courage knowing your Savior is still saving you this week!
